WeWork, the co-working office space giant, has expanded its footprint in Sydney with a new lease at the HCF building, 64 York Street in the city.
It will be the group’s fifth site in Sydney and follows the announcement in March that WeWork will open at the Fife Capital’s 383 George Street property later this year.
WeWork’s lease was brokered by Jessica Roberts of Cadigal, while Liz Crotty of PEGG Consulting advised HCF. WeWork will occupy 3,600 square metres of office space, over five floors at HCF House, which has undergone a refurbishment during the past two years.
HCF House is the head office for Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, HCF. WeWork is the first and only commercial tenant in the main building.
Jonathan Kearins, senior director of real estate, WeWork Australia and New Zealand, said the group was ”very excited to announce 64 York Street as the second of two new sites in as many weeks that aligns with our Sydney expansion strategy”.
The close proximity of this new site to our current WeWork locations is a testament to the high demand we are experiencing in the Sydney market” he said.
WeWork is also at 5 Martin Place and 100 Harris Street, Pyrmont, owned by Dexus Property.
